Open House Review

I just realized that i haven't posted about the open house that i recently hosted.  Like i said in my previous post, i think i was just on super burn out mode after all the work i put in getting my stock up for it.  We had a great turnout that day.  I estimate more than 70 people came by.  We had lots and lots of sales and most of all FUN.  There were bubbles flowing, lots of yummy goodies and people really just stayed to chat and mingle.

Thank you everyone for all of your support.
You all really made my day and made all the hours of hard work worth it.

I posted some photos on FB if you are interested in seeing.  Here's one of my set up -

What's next...

I think i'll continue making bows for all of you.  I will look into going into retail shops as well, so you won't have to hound me down to place orders and it'll also open the products up to the wider public.  I'm really going to have to get my butt in gear to add products to my line.

Surprisingly, one thing that sold very well were the bean bags.  I actually had someone come up to ask me specifically for them.  I hadn't increased stock for them and didn't even put them out on the day of the open house, because i thought people didn't care about them, but her son had played with them at a friend of mine's place and all the kids apparently love them.  Knowing this now, i'll be sure to keep making them for you all as well.

Also, I don't know if you remember seeing the fabric i bought recently, but i finally pulled my sewing machine out last night and made them into cushion covers for myself.

I'm quite pleased with them, but this is really just  sharing with you some of my other work -  i don't actually think i'll go this route into making these.  I already have a friend who makes cushion/pillow covers to sell, and gorgeous ones at that, so i'm not really interested in competing against her.  Here's a photo of her stuff.  She was actually at our open house - Two Happy Birds.

Next open house...

Besides increasing products, i think the plan is to bring you another open house some time in the fall for more merry shopping and to introduce new things.  Please like Sealy T on Facebook if you'd like to keep posted about when this may be.  Stay tuned...

Wild Zebra!

Zebra Print Ribbons w/ Rhinestone Embellishments

A friend of mine with a daughter in her tweens asked whether i had zebra print ribbon.  My supplier actually carries them and giraffe print as well, but i never picked them up because i thought they may be a bit too wild* for my 2-5 year old clients.  Upon her request, i went over the first chance i got to pick some up and while i was at it, thought only black and white?  That's too boring.  Let's go with the hot pink and black too.  I must say, i'm actually quite excited about this exotic print now.

She then asked if i had rhinestones.  Well, yes, in fact, i do have those too.  I used up most of them already though, so i also went to my other supplier today to pick some new ones up.

I've actually been on a decompression mode after the big open house.  I worked so hard to get my stock up that after the open house was over, i really needed to just take a break.  Going to the suppliers today though gave me a renewed sense of enthusiasm for my bows and business and i am happy to say, i'm now ready to get back into action.  Unfortunately, there may not be much bow making though in the next three weeks as i'm going away on a holiday.  Well, we can also say it's a sourcing trip.  I'm planning on researching more ribbons, clips and accessories in another part of the world.

I'll try to post updates though throughout these three weeks, so you won't miss me too much.

*My actual words when i first saw these ribbons were that they are 'too loud'.  My 3 yo daughter was with me at the time and upon seeing what i bought today, she said, mama...why did you buy these?  They make too much noise when you put them in the hair.  They're so noisy.  LOL.

Stock and Supplies

Stock & Supplies Cart
Seriously preparing for Wednesday's open house and just trying to get all my stock and supplies in order.  I went out a bought a cart on wheels today and lots of boxes to get organized.  Looking very neat compared to my last photo and also really helping me get my head around how much i've made and having easy access to the various bows, clips, headbands, packaging, etc.  The ribbons are a diff story.

Little K was also super enthused in being mama's helper in getting organized.  She got a free bow for her hard work!  Ha.

Also, just shared this pic on my FB (Sealy T FB Page).

Sailor Girl Bows - 5cm x 5cm
SGD 6.50 each or SGD $12.00/pair
In addition to these being super cute, many of our friends and their fams work with ships and/or shipping.  These are bound to be a hit with our little sailor girls.  Please pre-order if you plan on buying a set of these on Weds.

Workshop

Sealy T Workshop
Hi Everyone,

There haven't been many updates about new products and designs lately mainly because i've been super busy with production the past two weeks in preparation for the Open House on next Wednesday, 9 May. I just thought i'd post a photo of my little workshop.  It's a complete mess, but there's a lot going on here.

The box in the bottom left of photo is full of bows.  The other box on the right side of the photo are overflowing with different ribbons and on the floor are all headbands.  I think the headbands will be a nice new addition to the line.  Not many people have seen them in person yet.  Can't wait to show you.

I've had stickers and labels made to go on the product bags...

Now if i can only get my butt over to the printer and get some name cards made as well.  I'll def need those next week for the open house.

As always, thanks to everyone for your love and support.  Really can't mentally do it without you.  For those in Singapore, i'll see you next week!!

xoxo,
