Winter Holiday Sale in Review

It's been nearly three weeks since our holiday sale and yes, I'm only now just making a post about it.  It simply is because it really takes me that long to recoup from one of these events.

I had a great time planning and hosting it though.  We had such a wonderful time with lots of people, both familiar and new faces, showing up.  As usual, it was lots of fun and makes me oh so happy to share my items to customers.

Zojora Bali Necklaces

I'm very excited to announce that I'll have a selection of Zojora Bali Tassel Necklaces at Wednesday's Sealy T sale.  Zojora necklaces are delicate, bright and colorful - a theme for this upcoming sale.  Each necklace is handmade using glass beads and attached to a colorful tassel.  They are SGD 40 each.

Come by and see them for yourself.  Pick some up as Christmas presents and don't forget to snatch one up for yourself as well.

Cloth Flowers

These just in, cloth flower hair clips and headbands.  I have to admit, these were not handmade by yours truly.  I spotted these on a recent travel trip and felt that they really fit the Sealy T line, so I thought I'd bring them to you.  These are, however, still not mass produced, but made by a lovely lady that I met and hope to continue working with.  

These pretty flowers are made from fabric and are in many different designs.  They come on both clips and headbands.  Come to the next Sealy T sale to check them out.  I'll have these along with new satin hair bows and an increased selection of solid and printed hair bows to choose from.  There will also be special pricing on some of my products just at the sale.

Cardboard Rocking Horse

I came across this rocking horse recently and fell in love with it. Kayla saw it and just couldn't keep her hands off it. It's creative, unique, artsy and eco-friendly. It's made of layers of cardboard that has been glued together and laser cut.  

This rocking horse comes in two sizes: Large - approx. 90 cm tall & Small - approx. 60 cm tall.

Sealy T bows at Littleones Photography

I'm very excited to share with you that Sealy T hair accessories are now available for your use at Littleones Photography here in Singapore. I dropped off more than 40 different pieces in a variety of colors, sizes and materials at the studio just last week and they will be available for you to use for free at your Littleones Photography photo session. 

Whether it's a delicate little clip for the demure child or a vibrant large flower to give her look an added flair, a wide selection is available for you to choose from at the studio. 

Sealy T has been growing at a steady pace since the beginning of this year.  I've actually been quite conscious that it didn't grow too quickly as I wanted to keep the high quality handmade factor to my products.  A big part of why I do what I do is in seeing the excitement in both kids and parents when they get their hands on my products.  It gives me such satisfaction to see little girls with my bows and accessories in their hair and the pride that they have when they wear them.  This collaboration with Littleones Photography is very much along those lines of just making people happy.  I hope that Littleones Photography's clients will be pleased with the added touch that the Sealy T products will bring to their portraits.  

As for Littleones Photography itself...well, you can see for yourself the wonderful work that the fabulously talented photographer, Kate, does and what she is about through her website, but I think that you have to agree that she must be pretty special to have been awarded the "Best Photographer" award by Singapore Tatler in 2011.  On a more personal note, my friend, who introduced me to Kate, has had their family portraits taken by them three times in two years already.  How's that for a personal referral?! 

More to come...expect to see some of Kate's portraits with Sealy T accessories here on this site in the near future.  

AWA Nearly New Baby and Kids Sale

Ok...i know the name of the even is misleading.  No kids are being sold.  I promise, but there will be lots of gently used goods.  I, myself, will be bringing lots and lots of baby girls clothes.  Now i just need to get my act in gear and go sort them out before the day of the sale!

It's the time of year when all our little munchkins get ready to go on stage and perform something ridiculously cute.  To make it even more fun for the girls in her class, i offered to provide hair accessories for them and put together eight of these lovely headbands with a medium blue bow attached.  My little K has already given her approval and i have a feeling they are going to be a hit.  

So yes, i'm happy to do hair bows and other accessories for school, dance performances.

I love this time of year. I get really nostalgic and the warm fuzzies about the cooler temperatures (in the northern hemisphere at least) and the end of year holidays. I love Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. There are also so many other religious and cultural holidays around now that it just makes for a really festive time. Update - Past Month

I've been out and about trying to get creative on how to get beyond just making simple bows for ya'.

TEXTILES
Earlier this month, I went to Hong Kong and visited a lot of textile vendors.  It was so much fun seeing all the stuff that they carry there and how the business is done.  I came back with lots and lots of fabrics that i'm very excited to use.

SOFTIES

I mentioned about my latest softie obsession in a recent post.  In addition to the bird, i've made a fish...voila!

It actually took me quite awhile because I was trying to coordinate various fabrics and completely design it on my own.  I'm not stocking the softies, but if you like, i'll be happy to make them for you.  Just drop me a line.

THERAPEUTIC PADS
When i participated in the MAAD event early last month, a woman came by my booth and asked if i could make large versions of my rice-filled toss bags.  She was in need of them for therapeutic use, as heating pads for her arm.  Well, why not?  So i made two of these, in two different sizes, with a little 'pillow case' to go with each.  These are SGD50 per set, if interested.

And as seen in previous post, i'm gearing up for another open house.  This one will be at the Aalto Condo on East Coast (Singapore).  So East Coast dwellers, no excuses.  I'm coming to YOU!

RESEARCH & LEARNING

And finally, i've been on major research mode.  Was wanting some Scandinavian inspiration and went and bought myself eight Scandi home and living magazines in one go.  I've also been to the book store to do some browsing and came away with some fabulous finds.  And for further learning, i signed up today for some art courses to really try to hone that creative side.   Hopefully all this will equal more fun stuff to be seen on Sealy T.

Softies - My latest sewing obsession

After seeing an owl softie at a friend's place, i was inspired to do something similar yesterday.  My daughter said she wasn't that keen on an owl, but would happily take a bird, so i started gathering my thoughts by creating a Pinterest board on crafting birds.  I put on the board not only projects that included bird and owl softies, but also paper and kids projects as well.  

After she went to bed, i got my fabrics together and came up with this -

Now what's next?  A flock of birds or other animals?  After seeing that they can look quite alright, Kayla told me that she's okay with an owl, so i guess maybe i'll proceed with making that next.  Stay posted.   

MAAD Recap

Last Friday night was the MAAD event at Red Dot Design Museum.  Unfortunately, due to a massive rain storm, turnout was just so-so.  I did, however, still managed to have lots of fun and introduced many to Sealy T products.  

It's always so exciting for me to see the faces of little girls when they first pass by my table and see all the pretty things that i have made and are selling.

Sealy T at MAAD - 3 August

Come out and see me at the August MAAD event at Red Dot Gallery.  We went last month and had lots of fun.  Just a really chilled out vibe with special people showcasing their things - both handmade and commercial products and also artists and musicians as well.  There's a really nice Italian restaurant named Otto at the Gallery and also a bar as well if you want to make an evening of it.

Sealy T at August's MAAD

New Toss Bags for MAAD

Been busy creating lately, so not much on the writing and blogging front.  I'm gearing up for the MAAD event that Sealy T will be at on 3 August.  I'm trying to bring to the event more than just bows and top on my list have been ramping up production of Sealy T Rice-Filled Toss Bags (previously just referred to as bean bags on my site).

In preparation for this, i've hunted down some new fabric designs for ya'.  Have a look...

These are sold in sets of fours at SGD 20 each. As i do limited runs on each design, do let me know if  you'd like me to reserve a certain design for you.  

P.S. - On two separate occasions, parents have told me that their kid has asked to play with these as soon as they got up the morning after receiving them.  =)  

Extra Large Bows are Extra Cute

Extra large bows: Measures approx 15 cm across

They're here!!!  Sealy T Extra Large Bows.  These beauties measure 15 cm wide and they're gorgeous. I used to think my large bows were statement bows, but as Kayla has gotten older, the large bows are now only seeming just right. These extra large ones, however, are wow wow wee.

I prefer to attach these to french clips, per picture above.  They are a bit too big to be held in by regular alligator clips.  They can also be attached to elastics or head bands.  I attached one to the back or her head to pretty off a pony tail the other day for dance class and it stayed in perfectly.

Layered Bows

In a recent post, i mentioned that there seems to be quite a bit of mass-produced bows these days, so i've been getting creative and making some new designs to try to set Sealy T apart from the typical stuff.  I also know that if i were to host another open house in the Fall, that you'd def need to see some new things, so i came up with a few of these last night...
